Both the boys and girls teams ran their way to comfortable wins at the inaugural Nature Coast Middle School XC State Qualifier this past Saturday.  Four Harriers qualified for the State Championship race, and many others won ribbons and set PRs.

And the parents didn’t do too bad, either — we captured the top two spots in both the men’s and women’s divisions of the Open 3K race!

But the hard work doesn’t stop here.  Friday is the race we’ve all been waiting for:  Disney!

Friday’s meet, which was postponed due to rain, has already been rescheduled.  They will run the race on a different course (Holloway Park) on a different date (October 25).  But it will have the same name!

Next up:  Lecanto!

The Harriers came away with several more awards at this past Saturday’s Cheval Cares 5K — including 1st Overall Male and 1st Overall Female!

More importantly, though, we had a huge group of kids who generated a whole bunch of buzz in the community.  Thanks to everyone who came on a wet, humid Saturday.  The race should serve as perfect workout for this Friday’s PreHEAT meet.  Can’t wait!

Congrats to the girls team, who not only scored their first victory of the season, they had every runner win a medal or a Top 50 ribbon!  And two Harriers qualified for the State Championship on the very first week!  Another great week!

And eight medals!  Congrats to the 1st place boys team, 2nd place girls team and Top 15 individual finishers at this Saturday’s Holloway Park Jamboree.  Look forward to more success at this weekend’s meet in Ocala!

This Saturday is our first meet!  The Holloway Park Jamboree has served as the opening middle school meet for two years now, and as the site of the State Championship on November 1, there’s no better venue to kick off the season.  Combined boys/girls race starts at 9 AM, so let’s make sure we’re all there by 7:45 to pick up uniforms and get warmed up.  Can’t wait!
