The Hosts With The Most!

Thanks and congrats to all the Harriers and their families for hosting another great Bay Area Championships!  Picked up two more trophies, and several handfuls of medals and ribbons.  It was a great way to end the regular season.

Open for Business!

This Saturday was probably the greatest day in Harriers history, as seven dads and coaches combined to take the top seven spots in the male Open 3K at the 2nd Annual Nature Coast Invitational, and a mom was your women’s champion.  There were some brave men and women out there today!  We’ve been training since June to see how many awards the parents could get at a small event in rural Florida, and it seems that all of the hard work really paid off.

Also the boys were the team champions and every girl set a PR.

Magical Miles!

The Hillsborough Harriers had their best meet of the season across all ages this past Friday at the 20th Disney XC Invitational!  There were over 60 teams in attendance, and all six Harrier teams finished in the Top 4 of their division:

  • Elementary Girls:  3rd Place
  • Elementary Boys:  1st Place
  • Varsity Girls:  4th Place
  • Varsity Boys:  3rd Place
  • JV Girls:  1st Place
  • JV Boys:  3rd Place

Plus, we racked up nine individual medals and trophies in an extremely competitive field.  Great job, everyone!

Mid-Season Medals!

Even in the middle of a busy training schedule, the Harriers managed to pick up some hardware at this Saturday’s Holloway Park Jamboree.  Congrats to the boys for winning a very competitive race, and to all the kids for running some fast times on a tough course.  October is looking fast already!

This Week’s Practice Schedule (October 5 to October 11)

We have a slightly different week because of the Friday afternoon meet at Disney.  We will start Monday with a talk about our training plan for the month of October, and finish with a speed workout.  And then it’s some active recovery on Tuesday and Wednesday so that we are ready to run fast on Friday!
Hopefully everyone has had a chance to make a hotel reservation for Friday night if you’re interested in hanging out after the meet.  Email with meet info to follow — please call or email with any questions about the meet or the weekend…
